Meeting, dating and marrying in Lagos Life

How the relationship score works, what the ring and the wedding cost, how four baes and three children fit, and where the break-up line lives.

Quick answer

Get close — gist, hang out, visit — then tap the player and choose Ask to be my Bae 💘; the move wants a relationship score of 65 against an NPC, while another player’s card says it opens at 40. Dating for 3 days unlocks the ₦150,000 ring, the engagement takes 1 more day, and the wedding is ₦500,000. Four baes at a time, three children, and the break-up line sits under the baes list.

From stranger to Padi

Every relationship runs on a score from −100 to 100, and the score decides which moves the game hands you. A new face gets Say Hello, Gist, Crack Joke and Throw Shade; the rest open up as the score climbs, and Ask to Be Bae wants 65 from an NPC; on a real player’s card the button counts up to 40.

Tap someone and the menu is whatever their score has opened. The label over their name tells you where you stand:

  • Werey (Enemy)−100 – −30
  • Stranger−29 – 9
  • Acquaintance10 – 29
  • Padi30 – 59
  • Paddy Mi60 – 100

Bae overrides all of it — once the move lands, the label just reads Bae.

Moves with no figure of their own use 95%. Every one of them lifts your social bar, and the longer ones add fun as well.

How a move lands

The game builds the odds like this, then squeezes the answer between 5% and 98%:

base + 0.035 × Charisma + trait bonus + 0.15 Sweet Mouth + 0.15 Charmer (romantic moves) + relationship ÷ 300 + mood ÷ 400

The base is the move's own figure from the table. Charisma is worth 3.5 points a level; Smooth Talker, the one trait that carries a social bonus, adds 15; the Sweet Mouth reward adds 15 to everything and Charmer adds another 15 on the romantic moves. A relationship of 100 is worth 33 points by itself and a full mood bar is worth 25, which is why one good moodlet can drag a Flirt over the line.

What another player's card gives you

Tap a player and the card says whether they are an NPC or a real player, then lists what you can do. The Bae button carries its own progress — “Ask to be my Bae opens when you're closer (n/40)” — so you can see how far off you are. The same card lets you label them as family: sibling, cousin, uncle or aunty, nephew or niece, mum or dad, son or daughter, grandma or grandpa, grandchild, or in-law. It also carries the ugly options: Rob · risky, and Report to police.

Ask to be my Bae

The cap is 4 baes. A heading over the cards counts them — “Your baes · n/4” — and while you still have space the game adds “Room for n more baes 👀”, with the rules: “Tap another player you're close to and choose Ask to be my Bae, or 🤫 Sneaky link. Your other baes aren't told when you get a new bae, but every date with a sneaky link risks getting caught.”

The move is Ask to Be Bae 💘: a relationship of 65 opens it, its base odds are 55%, and a miss costs 20 points. Yes reads “said YES! You're officially an item 💘”; no reads “I see you as a brother/sister… 💔”.

Getting a bae is its own moodlet: 💘 In Love: +25 mood for 24h — “You have a Bae now!”

Getting caught is its own message: “👀 Somebody saw you two! Your other baes found out about your sneaky link 💔”.

Each bae gets a card in the colour of the stage — Dating 💘, Engaged 💍, Married 💒 — with four buttons on it: 💬 Chat, 🏠 Go to theirs (greyed out until they are home and online), 💕 Plan a date and 💸 Send money.

Taking them out

Plan a date opens once you have been dating for a day. Pick one of the seven spots below and they get a card to meet you there.

  • Candlelit dinner at Ivory Rooftop
  • Dinner and a movie at The Palms
  • Beach date at Elegushi
  • Canopy walk at Lekki
  • Picnic at Freedom Park
  • Night out at Quilox
  • Live music at the Shrine

The date itself leaves you with 💕 Date Night: +18 mood for 6h — “Dressed up, out with bae. Lagos looks better tonight.”

There is a cozy night in too, also after a day of dating. The other player reads “@username wants a cozy night in with you: a movie, suya and gist” and answers Yes 🌙 or Not tonight. A yes leaves you with 🌙 Cozy Night In: +22 mood for 8h — “A movie, suya and gist till you both fell asleep on the couch.”

The ₦150,000 question

After 3 days of dating the proposal row wakes up. Before that it counts for you: “Date for 3 days first (n/3)”. After that it reads “Buy the ring (₦150,000) and pop the question”, and once the ring is bought the same line says it is already yours.

The ring buys the ask, not the answer. The other player sees your name and then “went down on one knee and proposed 💍”, with Not yet and Yes! 💍 underneath. A yes comes back to you as “You're engaged! 💍”.

That is 💍 Engaged!: +30 mood for 48h — “Somebody said yes to forever.”

With the Good Vibes reward (25 ✨) every positive moodlet, this one included, runs 50% longer.

Owambe time?

Give the engagement 1 day. Then the engaged card offers “Plan the wedding with @username”, with “Owambe, aso-ebi and small chops: ₦500,000” underneath. Paying it sends the ask; the other player reads “is ready for the wedding. Owambe time? 💒” and answers with Yes! 💒.

That yes is the marriage: 💒 Just Married: +40 mood for 72h — “The owambe was legendary. Spraying money everywhere.”

Throwing the party

A married card grows a second row: “Throw your wedding day with @username — Pick a package and a venue. Your friends get invited.” The package sets the price and the guest list:

PackageGuestsPriceWhat that buys
Intimate ceremony10₦300,000close friends, small chops and a cake
Full owambe40₦2,000,000aso-ebi, live band, jollof and money spraying
Society wedding100₦10,000,000the wedding Lagos will talk about for years

The venue

  • Church wedding
  • Nikkah at the mosque
  • Eko Hotel ballroom
  • Garden party at Freedom Park
  • Ivory Rooftop
  • Boat cruise on the lagoon

Book it and the game posts “Your wedding day is booked! N guests invited. Head to the venue 🎉”, and hands you 👑 Owambe Royalty: +30 mood for 12h — “Sprayed money, danced, ate small chops. Legendary.”

Three children, two days

Once you are engaged or married — and not a sneaky link — the card adds “Start a family with @username: Ask them and choose the baby's name. The baby arrives 2 days later.” The limit is 3, and only one can be on the way at a time.

The ask travels with the name attached: the other player reads “wants to start a family with you 👶” and “Baby's name: X”. A yes comes back as “A baby is on the way! 👶”.

The baby lands with 👶 Proud Parent: +35 mood for 72h — “A tiny new Lagosian. Sleep is now a memory.”

The baby grows on its own clock

  • NewbornBirth
  • First smileDay 1
  • Crawling everywhereDay 2
  • First word: "Mama!"Day 4
  • First stepsDay 7
  • Toddler on the looseDay 14
  • Off to nursery schoolDay 30

Feeding a baby costs ₦2,500 a go; playing is free. Either one adds 8 social and leaves you with 🍼 Baby Cuddles: +14 mood for 4h — “Tiny fingers, big smiles. Worth every sleepless night.”

Sending money to your bae

The 💸 Send money button on a bae card opens four presets, each with the note the game attaches to it:

AmountThe note on it
₦5,000“for transport”
₦20,000“for food”
₦100,000“for shopping”
₦500,000“just because”

Under the presets there is a free amount and a note of your own. The game takes anything from ₦100 to ₦10,000,000,000.

Send money to a player from chat and the range is the same, with a small fee on top:

  • ₦10 up to ₦5,000
  • ₦25 up to ₦50,000
  • ₦50 and above

The other direction is Ask for Small Money 🙏: a relationship of 50 opens it, it lands 60% of the time, and it pays ₦1,000 to ₦4,000 — for 12 relationship points.

Somebody else's owambe

Not every owambe on the calendar is yours. The game drops an Owambe Invitation 🎊 with its own line: “Your padi's cousin is getting married today! Aso-ebi is ₦1,500. Jollof, small chops, live band, money spraying…”

Buy aso-ebi & go for ₦1,500 and the game fills your fun and social bars, adds 60 hunger, burns 25 energy, puts 12 relationship points on the padi who invited you, and hands you 👑 Owambe Royalty: +30 mood for 12h — “Sprayed money, danced, ate small chops. Legendary.”: “You danced, ate small chops and 2 plates of jollof. Aso-ebi squad! 🎊”.

Go & spray money BIG for ₦5,000 and you get all of that plus two ✨ and five relationship points with everyone you know: “You sprayed crisp naira notes on the couple. The MC hailed you by name! 👑 +2 ✨”.

Whose wedding it is matters. The invitation is the cousin's, and your own party is the wedding day you book with a package and a venue. What the two share is the moodlet, and the Full owambe package line promising “aso-ebi, live band, jollof and money spraying”.

Break up, or divorce

Under the last card of the baes list sits a small line: “💔 Break up with @username”, which becomes “💔 Divorce with @username” once you are married. Either one opens a confirm sheet titled “Break up?” or “Divorce?”, and the game says what it costs: “This ends things with @username. Your children stay on both your profiles.” — or, married, “This ends your marriage to @username.”

The two buttons are Stay together and Break up (Divorce, when you are married). Confirming answers “You broke up 💔” or “You're divorced 💔”, and the children stay on both profiles.

A split leaves one of two moodlets behind: 💔 Heartbroken: −30 mood for 24h — “Playing sad Asa songs on repeat.” — or 🕊️ Single Again: +5 mood for 12h — “New chapter. Who's next?”
